Chris joined us at the adult dinner table as he dawdled over unfamiliar food at his aunt's house. He and the cousins had been eating on the lanai, separate from the grown-ups.
His Uncle Dave encouraged him to try the delicious new vegetable salad my sister had made.
Chris looked very solemn when he informed us, "Cassidy's face got red when she ate it."
When all we did was laugh in response to this, he explained patiently, "It did not make her feel good."
