Cowboys and Candy

Max was cajoling Chris for a piece of candy and wheedled, "Trey gave me some!" Then a moment later his satisfied, "Thank you."

In disgust Trey said, "I gave Max candy because of intimidation. Chris gave him candy out of pity."

After we stopped laughing, Chris said to Trey with innocent sincerity, "I appreciate you saying that, buddy."
