The best laid plans and all that . . . we are in KANSAS! BAH! Actually got on Odysea and set off on our big trip at sunrise on December 12th .. . heard a strange noise and felt a strange vibration at cruising speed that hadn't abated by the time we reached the drawbridge at Sanibel so we turned around. 24 hours later that problem was fixed - but Dave's HUGE land sale here in Kansas needed some TLC - so we moved Christmas into the car along with enough stuff to keep homeschool going for up to three months - and here we are. Looks like a modified version of Dave's deal may be done sometime this month. Until it's done, the boys are having a great time with Grandma and exploring the ravines and woods on ATVs. While this is not as sunny nor as exotic as our original destination, we are having great family times.
January 5th:
Max asked me about the birthday card Gunnar and Trey were laughing over, "Who gave that to Gunnar? Aunt Marcia or Aunt Marla?
Vick: "Aunt Marcia."
Max: "Marcia, Marla and . . . ?"
Vicki: "Marnie."
Max: "Why is your name different?"
Vicki: "Well, Grandpa Kenny and Grandma Evie had a deal. She got to name all the girls and he got to name all the boys. Guess what happened after Marla, Marnie and Marcia?"
Max: "You looked like a boy?"
January 9th
We are memorizing the Golden Rule found in Matthew 7:12 this week at breakfast. Trey (3), gave me a big grin and a thumbs up sign as he quoted: "Do to others as you would have them do to you, for this "thumbs up" the Law and the Prophets." For those of you who aren't familiar with this passage - it is acutally "sums up".

Nothing wrong with Kansas, as I live there. My brother James went to college with Dave in Manhattan. I met Dave when I went to Manhattan to see James. Hope you are having a good time in the Land of Awes (OZ).
On another note, could you have Dave contact me sometime? Thanks
