Last week we had some new friends over for dinner and one of them was describing his mother, a hospice nurse for the terminally ill, in glowing terms. After he had expounded for quite some time on her virtues and selflessness in that difficult position, Maxwell said, “Well. Now I finally know what job is the opposite of an investment banker.”
This month in church we have been learning about the virtue of resourcefulness. The definition we have been working from is "Using what you have to get the job done." Max came up with his own virtue and definition: "Reforcefulness - using what you have to get OTHER people to get the job done."
Chris was particularly excited every time we mentioned that Aunt Marnie was coming for a visit, mistaking her name for that of his favorite purple dinosaur. This made us all laugh. Once when he did this Max (10) snorted, “If we had an Aunt Barney, she would be gay.”
