Trey was so traumatized by a particularly effective defensive move Christopher made in the pool, he had to sit out for a few minutes to recover. When he was ready to swim again, he flung open the door to the pool deck and shouted, “RULE NUMBER ONE! DO NOT SPLASH CHRIS!”

At the Thursday night pizza/sailing event at the Key West Sailing Club Youth Program, Max noticed his instructor standing all by her lonesome on the dock while the students had a water battle in their boats. He sailed over and invited her to be his pilot. It seems she had her cell phone in her pocket so, by virtue of having her onboard, Max’s boat became a no splash zone. “She let me focus on my attacks AND she gave me a defensive parameter,” Max told us. Unloading back at our marina, Gunnar, who had pondered the injustice of this the entire ride home, said, “I’m taking my cell phone with me to sailing next week.”
We returned to our lovely volunteer job at the Tropic Cinema today (we were in Cape Coral for three weeks then had the flu – so have been gone over a month). The new theater, which was supposed to open on July 1st, still isn’t finished. Our wonderful friend and the cinema manager, Miss Lori, agreed to show the unfinished theater to Trey, but warned that nothing had changed since we left (the delay was due to climate control issues). She was despairing of it ever getting finished when we talked to her later, then said, “But Trey made me feel better. When I showed him the theater he immediately noticed, ‘They put up a new exit sign!’”
We celebrated Chris’ first “gotcha” day and Trey’s first year anniversary of being a big brother on October 6th. The next morning Trey said, “I’ll never forget Chris’ gotcha day, mom.”
