Breaking news
Trey took a tumble last Sunday and broke his foot . . . among other things. The other things turned out to be non-events, but prompted a transfer by ambulance to the pediatric hospital. The conversation with the first ER doctor about this went something like this:
Dr: We are going to have to transfer him downtown where they are better equipped to deal with injuries of this nature.
Trey (who recently got to watch some police shows with a neighbor): I'm too young to be sent downtown! I didn't do anything!
Dr (patiently): Downtown to the pediatric ER - you get to ride in an ambulance!
Trey: I would rather ride in a limo.

So, we went to the pediatric ER and got everything squared away. Then the tech came in and started his crutches training with a VERY SERIOUS talk about how these new crutches were not a toy or a weapon. No one should play with them, they were just to help Trey walk. The tech poceeded with his training on how to use the crutches in a friendlier manner and was very nice and helpful. When he left Trey said sadly, "I wish he hadn't said that part about them not being weapons."

Two hours after he got his crutches Trey said, "Crutches are a lot more fun when they belong to your brother."

Today Trey said, "Having a broken foot isn't so bad - you just can't walk."
