I was tickling Chris (5) and told him he had to say the magic words to get me to stop. When he gasped out "please" between his giggles I shouted, "No! the magic words are now 'my mom is beautiful'." Chris promptly responded, "Your mom is beautiful." Usurped by my own mother. Hats off to you, Grandma Evie!!!

The boys and I were discussing a study I had heard of on NPR that concluded that a student's chances of success were greater if they came from a bad family in a good neighborhood rather than a good family in a bad neighborhood. Trey, listening in, said, "Then I'm going to be EXTRA successful."
